The behavior of many visitors to the Belvedere Zoo, located in a large eponymous park in the center of Tunis, is regularly denounced on the media and social networks. “Citizens leave waste, plastic bags (…) behind them. They throw stones at lions and hippos, “added Dr. Ennaifer. “Of course, there are signs and guards but this is not enough, especially during this school holiday period. 1. So shocking. Another reason not to keep animals in zoos:(

Thanks for caring. Yes the animals should’nt be in zoos but when they are, you don’t kill them for fun. 2 swans decapitated in the UK a few days ago. Dogs covered with glue etc etc. A lot of people have no respect for LIFE. Such a sad era!

  2. Reblogged this on "OUR WORLD".

  3. Your welcome!

  4. I visited Parc Belvedere last year and many of the enclosures are painfully tiny. The animals to me looked far livelier, with more natural-seeming behaviour, than in Western zoos – due to the constant interaction with visitors. At one point I saw a man poking his arm through the bars of the lion’s cage (the lion had his back turned). But yes, it is the kind of venue where schoolchildren could kill a crocodile. It would be sensible to have fewer exhibits, more space, and maybe some caffeinated security guards.
