How Wolves Change Rivers

When wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone National Park in the United States after being absent nearly 70 years, the most remarkable “trophic cascade” occurred. What is a trophic cascade and how exactly do wolves change rivers? George Monbiot explains in this movie remix.

  1. This video should be really widespread. It is so important. And, I just love the howling – it gets to me every time. I am going to try and reblog. I don’t usually have much success with videos, but if it doesn’t show up on mine, at least your link will be there and it can still be watched. :)

Hi thanks for the reblog, I thought it was miraculous the whole chain of benefits from one species to Nature. It shows that we are all connected and that if one link is missing Nature becomes unbalanced. If only most human did treat animals and plants differently instead of using them and destroying them as if there was no tomorrow. Best to you. :)

      • My pleasure. I had seen something like this before, but it was nowhere near as good as the one you posted. This one really puts it all across very well and its very watchable. So THANK YOU, my friend, for posting. Have a great rest of the day ~ Amelia :)

  2. Reblogged this on Mungai and the Goa Constrictor and commented:
This video should be viewed across the world. It serves to illustrate what happens when we allow nature to take its natural course again.
